Curb ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Curb mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our app.
Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly and information generated by your use of the app:
- Account information — name, email address, and password when you create an account.
- Location data — your device's GPS location to show nearby food carts and, for cart owners, to broadcast your cart's live position to customers. Location is used only while the app is in use.
- Order information — items ordered, order amounts, and order history.
- Payment information — payments are processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your full card number or CVV. Stripe's privacy policy applies to payment data.
- Cart owner data — menu items, pricing, and sales analytics for owners who list their carts on the platform.
How We Use Your Information
- To show you nearby open food carts on the map.
- To process and fulfill your orders.
- To display your cart's live location to customers (cart owners only, while broadcasting is enabled).
- To send order status notifications.
- To improve the app and resolve technical issues.
Location Data
Curb requests access to your device's location to provide its core features. For food lovers, location is used to show carts near you. For cart owners, location is used to broadcast your cart's position on the map — this is only active when you explicitly enable it in the app.
We do not sell or share location data with advertisers or third-party data brokers.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:
- Stripe — for secure payment processing.
- Firebase (Google) — for authentication, real-time database, and app infrastructure.
- Service providers — who help us operate the app and are contractually required to protect your data.
We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of our users.
Data Retention
We retain your account and order data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us.
Children's Privacy
Curb is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Your Rights
You may at any time:
- Access, update, or delete your account information within the app.
- Disable location permissions in your device settings.
- Request deletion of your data by contacting us.
Security
We use industry-standard security practices including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure authentication, and Stripe's PCI-compliant payment processing. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or by email. Continued use of Curb after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
